It seems as if there are already “National Days” celebrating just about everything. Now, Cetaphil is calling March 22nd through March 28th Sensitive Skin Awareness Week.

The brand’s new “Complete Care for Your Sensitive Skin” campaign features dermatologists, influencers, and experts who will provide consumers with skincare advice.

June Risser, vice president and GM at Galderma, says, “Sensitive Skin Awareness Week is designed for today’s digitally savvy and connected skincare consumer…it’s a more interactive dialogue on social platforms to help them meet their unique skin needs.”

Risser continues, “This initiative will provide our consumers with first-hand access to science-based sensitive skincare knowledge from some of the best dermatologists in the country— alongside product recommendations from their influential peers.”

Cetaphil’s consumer research reveals that 70% of Americans self-diagnose as having sensitive skin.

Oregon-based board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Laurel Geraghty explains, “My patients often don’t realize that their sensitivity is actually due in part to how they are treating their skin, or the effects of the products they are using.”

When the skin is in a sensitive state, it may show one or more of these five signs, ranging from mild to severe—dryness, irritation, roughness, tightness, and a weakened skin barrier. Cetaphil suggests consumers use the products that are formulated to address your skin’s specific symptom.
